چکیده
Objective To investigate the effects of puerarin (Pur) on myocardial perfusion and ventricular wall motion in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Methods Thirty-seven patients with ACS were randomly divided into two groups: conventional treatment group (n=17, 11 males, range of age: 32-80 years, average age: 60.9±4.9 years) and Pur treatment group (n=20,12 males, range of age: 40-76 years, average age: 62.7±3.5 years). Patients in the conventional treatment group received standard treatment according to the current guidelines, while patients in the Pur treatment group received intravenous administration of Pur (500 mg/day) for 10 days plus conventional treatment. Real-time myocardial contrast echocardiography (RT-MCE ) was performed to evaluate the change in myocardial perfusion index (MPI) and ventricular wall motion index (VWMI) at admission and 10 days after treatment. Results At 10 days after treatment, MPI was significantly higher (P<0.01) and VWMI significantly lower (P<0.01) in the Pur group comparing with those in the conventional group. Conclusions Puerarin might improve myocardial microcirculation perfusion and ventricular wall motion in patients with ACS. (J Geriatr Cardiol 2008; 5:155-158)

Comparison of the myocardial perfusion and wall motion results by ECG-Gated 99mTc-MIBI SPECT, before and after CABG for evaluation of myocardial viability [Persian]
It is of value to determine the amount of viable myocardial tissue in patients suffering from chronic coronary artery disease and ventricular dysfunction. Having the capability of evaluating both myocardial perfusion and function, simultaneously, myocardial scanning by ECG-Gated is an appropriate method for this purpose. The aim of this study was to compare the results of myocardial perfu...
متن کاملGated 99mTc-MIBI myocardial perfusion SPECT in patients with right bundle branch block but without evidence of coronary artery disease
Introduction: We aimed to investigate the effect of right bundle branch block (RBBB) on perfusion and functional parameters in dipyridamole stress/rest Tc99m-MIBI gated myocardial perfusion SPECT (GSPECT) which may be helpful in interpretation of myocardial perfusion imaging. Methods: We studied 73 patients with low pre-test likelihood of coronary artery disease in two groups: 38 patients wit...
متن کاملGated myocardial perfusion SPECT in patients with left bundle block but having low probability of coronary artery disease; as compared to the patients with normal electrocardiogram
Introduction: We aimed to investigate of effect of left bundle branch block (LBBB) on perfusion and functional parameters in dipyridamole Tc99m-MIBI gated myocardial perfusion SPECT which may be helpful in interpretation of myocardial perfusion imaging. Methods: We studied 70 patients with low pre-test probability of coronary artery disease in two groups: 35 patients with LBBB and 35 subject...
متن کاملThe prognostic value of stress/rest gated myocardial perfusion SPECT in patients with known or suspected coronary artery disease
Introduction:Gated myocardial perfusion SPECT has diagnostic and prognostic values in coronary artery disease (CAD). We tried to determine prognostic values of the left ventricular perfusion & functional indices as well as transient left ventricular dilation (TID) derived from gated myocardial perfusion SPECT. Methods: 1820patients who underwent gated myo...
متن کاملMyocardial damage of the entire ventricular region in a patient with acute myocardial infarction
Technetium-99m-pyrophosphate (99mTc-PYP) has been used, in combination with thallium-201, to estimate the site and extent of myocardial infarcts. We report a case of acute myocardial infarction with severe coronary disease in which the distribution of 99mTc-PYP was extensive. A 78-year-old man presented with dyspnea, and a diagnosis of non-ST-segment elevation acute myocar...
